| The FBA proudly presents the "FBA TRIPLE CHALLENGE". This is the first 100% FBA Sanctioned event. This means the FBA Members get to help create this event. The entire FBA staff from all over the world is dedicated to making this the best event possible. There will be many "firsts" for this event, but mainly the format and prize breakdown will be completely new. The name TRIPLE CHALLENGE is derived from there being 3 separate contests or challenges the bartender can choose from.

These are not just rounds of a larger contest, but individual contests with individual winners and prize money. The competitors may enter all of them or just one. There will be an overall points champion for the event, so entering more contests will help you win that trophy. The Triple Challenge will also have a Tandem competition to showcase team bartending.

All competitors must check in at either the meet and greet reception in Palm Conferance Room Sunday evening or at 9:30am Monday morning in the Grand Ball Room.
Bartenders must arrive 30 minutes prior to their scheduled time. Any bartender that is not on time for scheduled heats may be subject to disqualification.
Flair practice will be performed in designated areas only. Any bartenders that are found flairing outside of these areas will be subject to disqualification. This is a public resort hotel and any broken glass in public areas will not be tolerated by security.
No competitive logoed attire. For example you may not wear a vodka Logo other than SKYY Vodka since SKYY Vodka is a sponsor.
You may use your own music for the exhibition flair contest. This contest may be held outside where the general public is walking on the beach. Therefore no explicit lyrics may used. If you violate this rule you will be disqualified with no refund. If you have any questions please ask.
All music for contests that allow you use your own music must be received on 1 music CD. The DJ will not mix or edit any music for any competitor.
Bartenders may use their own mixing tins in all rounds.
Bartenders may use their own bottles in the flair rounds as long as they are the same brand and type of product provided.
Bartenders may use their own ice scoops in flair rounds, but must use the scoop provided for the speed round. You may also use a mixing tin as a scoop for all rounds.
Each bar will be properly set by the bar backs to exact schematics prior to the start of the contest. Each competitor will have 2 minutes to re-arrange the FRONT BAR any way they want following a few guidelines.
- Bottles in the speed well must stay in the speed well but may be rearranged
- Items on top of the bar must stay on top of the bar but may be rearranged
- Items on the lower bar must stay on the lower bar but may be rearranged
- Juices must remain in the juice holders but may be rearranged
- Garnishes must remain in the garnish holders
Spill mats may be removed
By default all bottles will be "flagged" (pour spouts facing left) in the speed rail.
By default all juice containers will be flagged toward the ice bin.
Final bar setup and inspection will be the competitor's responsibility. If the competitor signals the bar is OK and the contest starts, it may not be stopped for a missing bar object or item.
No fire or pyrotechnics of any kind will be permitted in any round or at any time.
Should a mechanical or other malfunction occur which is not the competitor's fault, the competitor will not be penalized, but they will be encouraged to continue with the performance. If the competitor feels their performance was hindered an extreme amount, they may protest for the right to redo the performance. These protests must happen within 30 minutes of the end of their performance. The event head judge, contest judges, and the competitor will discuss the options and the outcome will be final.
All rules, guidelines and recipes are subject to change at the discretion of the FBA. Please use good judgment in regards to behavior. You will be held responsible for any and all of your actions inside and outside of the event. Please represent the sport of flair bartending well.
Any damage to any part of the venue or property will be charged to your rooms account. If any thing is broken and matters are not resolved between Edgewater Beach Resort and the competitor responsible, the competitor will be disqualified from the event and may be subject being banned from FBA events in the future. If you break it, pay for it!
