CONGRATULATIONS
RODRIGO DELPECH!
Nine years down and the last man standing is once again a Delpech. For the third straight year, Rodrigo Delpech proved that he was indeed the man to beat and once again, noone was up to the task. Rodrigo put on a tremendous show finals night, but in my opinion it wasn't nearly as good as the performance that he put on in the Working Flair round earlier in the day. The LEGENDS working flair round is quite possibly the hardest and most nerve-racking round in any competition. The bartenders are all given the same 5 drinks to make and none of them knows what they are making beforehand. All of the bottles are set to different levels and the competitors only have 3 minutes to make the drinks. Rodrigo reigned supreme in this round, timing his round out to perfection while executing some very creative and difficult flair. I personally feel that this was his best round, though his finals night Exhibition Flair round was nothing short of spectacular. He once again showed why he is the man everyone is chasing in difficulty. Rodrigo makes some of the hardest tricks look simple. What a performance!
Coming in 2nd place this year was one of the superstars of the FBA Pro Tour and the Rio's own Tom Alley. Coming back from an injury last summer that almost ended Tom's flair career, he has done nothing but shine ever since. Tom's best round of the day was the Accuracy round in which he took home the top prize. Tom also managed to share top honors in the FINEST CALL STALL.
Third overall was a newcomer to Legends, but someone to definitely watch out for in the years to come. Danilo Oribe, from Uruguay wowed everyone in the room with his silky smooth, near flawless style. In two days of competition Danilo had only one drop and excited all of us hitting move after move with great precision. He impressed the judges also, taking home top honors in the Final night Exhibition Flair Round. There are great things to come from Danilo on the Pro Tour.
Fourth place went to the most likeable competitor to ever hit the stage. Japan's Eiji Narita took home the fourth place trophy as well as the Pour-off title and a tie for first with Tom for the best overall FINEST CALL STALL. Eiji is one of the most entertaining and fun competitors on the stage. He definitely brought his A game to Legends.
Rounding out the top five this year was the king of forearm rolls Carnival Court's own Vache Manoukian. Vache is always a crowd favorite and this year was no different. He brought the house down with his double bump between his forearms to a stall with a tin that had liquid in it. This was Vache's third straight Legends Finals and second straight 5th place finish.
Thanks go out to all involved with Legends this year. All of our sponsors, the Rio Casino, all of the Legends staff and judges as well asall of you that were able to attend.
Special thanks goes out to Eddie Perales from the Rio. Without his assistance and hard work, Legends would not have been possible this year. Thanks a lot Eddie.
